Having evolved my art practice from a background in Graphic Design and, specifically, Photography, I am very attached to the concept of image making to capture and record fleeting observation or emotion. My paintings are an extension of a connection to memory making. Sometimes I draw from my own upbringing in the late '50s and '60s, and sometimes I'm responding to the world inhabited by my own children when they were younger. The introspective world explores the idea that children are at once totally self absorbed and private in their play, and yet so innocently and publicly on view.
